Research says proposed UK-EU SPS deal could save British meat exporters up to £88m a year.
Analysis by The Andersons Centre found meat exporters face costs of more than £200 per tonne from chilled meat shipments to the EU under the current regime. The consultancy said an SPS deal could deliver annual savings of between £44m and £88m depending on the level of non-tariff costs reduced.
