IPES-Food warns governments to act as global food prices remain 35% above 2019 levels
A new report by the International Panel of Experts on Sustainable Food Systems says global food prices stand 35% above 2019 levels after repeated shocks from war, energy and trade disruptions and volatile climatic conditions. It urges governments to cut reliance on volatile global markets and strengthen local food systems to stabilise prices.
