U.S. grocery inflation rose 0.7% in April, the highest level since mid-2023, Labor Department says.

The Labor Department reported a 0.7% increase in the price for food consumed at home in April. Tomato prices were up nearly 40% year over year in April, the quickest rate of inflation among the food-at-home categories that the BLS tracks.
