Plant-based proteins are now cheaper than processed meat in Germany and the United Kingdom, analysis finds.
New data on retail prices in Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom show a continued widening of the price gap between conventional meat and plant-based proteins. The analysis found that average meat prices in the three markets have risen by 29% to 42% since 2019.
