Australian Bureau of Statistics reports fall in retail spending and rise in consumer prices amid US-Iran conflict

The ABS says 31 per cent of retail businesses have been impacted by supply chain disruptions and 71 per cent by rising fuel costs. Clothing and footwear prices rose 6.1 per cent from April 2025 to 2026, with increases also recorded across other consumer categories.
