**When Fireball Buys Your FYP Margarita**
1h ago · 4 sources · M&A
Sazerac, the company behind Fireball and BuzzBallz, just took a stake in Sipmargs, the ready-to-drink canned margarita brand backed by TikTok personality Alix Earle. Financial terms were not disclosed. What Sazerac did lock up is exclusive distribution rights, plus the keys to national expansion. Sipmargs is currently only available in select states. Now it gets Sazerac’s brand building and go-to-market muscle across the United States.
Sipmargs was founded in 2021 and relaunched last year after a $3 million funding round that included Earle as an investor. The lineup is tequila-based, with classic, mezcal, spicy, mango and coconut varieties. Palm Tree Crew is also behind the brand.
Zoom out and a pattern pops. Sipmargs marks Sazerac’s second recent investment in a celebrity-backed brand targeting younger drinkers, following a minority stake in Kendall Jenner-backed 818 Tequila last month. Add that to an acquisition streak that includes Dirty Shirley, Western Son and Svedka Vodka.
Why it matters. Sazerac is not just buying brands. It is buying cultural gravity. Influencer-backed spirits bring built-in audiences. Sazerac brings distribution and scale. That combo turns a select-state RTD into a national contender fast.
Quick take. The real asset here is not tequila. It is attention. In ready-to-drink cocktails, the next land grab is happening on social feeds first, then in the spirits aisle. Sazerac clearly wants both.
